Bhai kya ye sensor 3.3V ESP32 k GPIO pins pe safely direct connect ho jata hai ya voltage divider lagana pare ga?

ISOL Engineering Team Sep 02, 2026

Walaikum Assalam! The HC-SR04 VCC requires 5V, but its ECHO pin outputs a 5V logic signal. For an ESP32 (which has 3.3V GPIOs), we strongly recommend a simple 2-resistor voltage divider (e.g. 1kΩ and 2kΩ) on the Echo line to protect your ESP32 pin.

Can I connect this directly with 3.3V ESP32 pin or does it need voltage divider resistor?

ISOL Engineering Team Aug 15, 2026

The HC-SR04 VCC requires 5V power, but the Echo pin output (5V) should be stepped down to 3.3V using a simple 1k/2k resistor voltage divider before connecting to ESP32 GPIO to protect the 3.3V logic level.
